Excalibur Sword

Braveheart Sword
The Braveheart Sword received its name because of its strong connection with the legendary Scottish hero Sir William Wallace, who was sometimes called "Braveheart." Wallace was a minor Scottish noble who organized the Scots in order to wrest control of Scotland away from the English King Edward I during the Middle Ages, at the end of the 13th Century.
Samurai Swords
Historically, Samurai were members of the Japanese warrior class and, as such, constituted Japan's military nobility. Samurai swords were the traditional bladed weapons of Japan, and only Samurai were allowed to wear them. They were of course used in combat by Samurai warriors, but they were also worn for ceremonial events and, like American "six-shooters," were worn in the ordinary course of every day.
Some further information about Swords
Reigning monarchs and members of royal families, members of the nobility, and various other prestigious
men historically carried swords as a sign of their status. In the military, swords were (and still are) traditionally carried only by elite soldiers - commissioned officers and, in some cases, mounted cavalrymen. In Medieval times, a knight considered his sword to be his most important weapon. With the modern exception of the fixed bayonet, the edged weapon carried by rank and file infantrymen and other foot soldiers has always been the much smaller and much less deadly dagger or knife. These bladed weapons have a much shorter blade and
a much shorter reach than swords, so they are much less effective as weapons, as well as being much less prestigious to carry.
Swords are cutting, thrusting, striking and slashing weapons and have the longest reach of any edged weapon. Their blades are much longer than those of any dagger, dirk or knife, and they are certainly long enough for a man on horseback to be able to swoop in and cut down a foot soldier.
A sword consists of a long single-edged or double-edged blade together with a hilt, a collective term which includes the pommel, the grip and a simple or elaborate guard. Swords are typically carried in a protective leather or metal scabbard that is attached to the waist.
Swords have been used as weapons since time immemorial, in hundreds of different cultures throughout the world. As weapons of war, they have been made of bronze, iron and steel (later, tempered steel).
They have also been used for ceremonial purposes for at least one thousand years.
And although they are no longer used as actual weapons, they are still used ceremonially even today.
Swords play an important part in some military weddings and in certain military rituals, and they still are a
part of a commissioned officer's dress uniform. The investiture of a knight (being "dubbed" a knight) is, and traditionally was, performed by the man being touched on the shoulder with the flat of the sword of his monarch or lord. Swords are even used by Masons during certain Masonic rituals and ceremonies.
Ceremonial swords are most often made of gold or sterling silver, and their blades and scabbards are often very elaborately engraved or inscribed. Sometimes one or more gemstones are inlaid or set into the sword guard and/or the scabbard.
There are many different sword designs, including traditional-style swords, sabres, rapiers, cutlasses and scimitars. From swords that were used in mortal combat, such as Japanese Samurai Katana swords, to mythical swords such as Excalibur, to ceremonial swords like Masonic swords, they all have a noble past, and they all signify tradition and prestige.
